# Meshes auth.md

Meshes does not currently support Auth.md agent registration.

Agents cannot create accounts, claim accounts, or obtain Meshes credentials through automated agent registration flows. A human user must sign up through the Meshes web app, create or join the relevant account, and configure API credentials from the documented Meshes authentication flow.

## Service

- Service: Meshes
- Website: https://meshes.io
- API resource: https://meshes.io
- Documentation: https://meshes.io/docs/api/authentication
- Protected Resource Metadata: https://meshes.io/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource
- Authorization Server Metadata: https://meshes.io/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server
- Bearer methods for Meshes API credentials: header
- Resource scopes advertised for Auth.md/OAuth discovery: none

## Agent registration status

- Supported: no
- Registration endpoint: https://meshes.io/agent/auth
- Supported Auth.md identity types: none
- Supported Auth.md credential types: none
- Claim endpoint: not available
- Revocation endpoint: not available

The registration endpoint returns a structured unsupported response so agents can stop probing and fall back to the standard Meshes onboarding path.

## Credential use

Existing Meshes API clients authenticate with short-lived machine JWTs in the `Authorization: Bearer <token>` header. Browser-safe event ingestion can use a workspace publishable key for event submission only. See the authentication documentation before sending credentials or product events.

## DNS-AID discovery

DNS-AID records must be published by the DNS zone operator for `meshes.io`. Do not assume DNS-AID support unless a DNS lookup for `_index._agents.meshes.io` returns authenticated SVCB or HTTPS data from a DNSSEC-validating resolver.
